Sunday (All Year)

Meet: Barnstaple Clocktower Square - 8:30am

Distance: Typically 25 - 60 miles across two groups - Club and Social

Pace: SOCIAL: 13-15mph CLUB: 15-18mph average speeds (dependent on terrain elevation)

Mood: A social focus with ever-changing routes and a coffee stop! A great way get involved with the club with both a social and a club ride going out each week offering a range of routes and speeds. No drop policy across all Sunday groups.

Routes and ride details will be posted on our Facebook group by the ride leaders, otherwise please feel free to email us on info@northdevonvelo.com where we can answer any questions!

Youth Riders on Public Road Sessions

The club asks that:

At any time when an Under 16 rider is present on a NDV organised public road ride/session (primaily Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday); the parents/guardians of that rider are required to be contactable and are available to pick up their child in the event that they cannot continue the advertised ride.

This will be required for the duration of the session should contact between club and parent need to be established.

A form for youth riders out on public roads under NDV organised sessions can be found here: NDV Youth Riders on Public Roads

The form, upon completion, can be emailed to info@northdevonvelo.com or handed to one of the ride organsers for discussion on the rider’s bespoke requirements.

The club routes will be posted on the North Devon Velo Facebook page. We politely ask if an a parent/guardian can comment or indicate that their child will be attending the ride, so that we can ensure there are responsible adults on the ride to ensure the safeguarding of the child. Ideally, we would ask if the parent/guardian could accompany their child on their first ride with us, but we fully understand that is not always possible.

Step Up Sunday

The first Sunday of each month is dedicated to Step Up Sunday’. The format for these are two separate 20 mile loops going out with a view to meet back in Barnstaple at roughly the same time.

A second loop will then head out after a chance for coffee and cake and riders are able to mix and match their group choice based on preferred speed.

In the winter, the first loop is Mullacott Cross - Croyde - Braunton route and in the summer months, it is Bideford - Westward Ho!

This is an effort to encourage progression between the social and club rides where riders in either of the Sunday groups can swap between groups either at the beginning in the Square or after the coffee stop.

If you would like to come along, the Step Up Sunday is usually advertised on the NDV Facebook page; just give the post a like or drop us an email via info@northdevonvelo.com to let us know you are coming along!
