WHO ARE WE?
NORTH DEVON VELO is a friendly, approachable cycling club that focuses on supporting our members who share a passion of cycling to get the most out of their time on and off the bike.
NDV was established through an equal merger between North Devon Wheelers and Taw Velo to promote cycling in North Devon.
We encourage members of all ages to take part in competition at club and national level, or to simply experience the joy and freedom of cycling the beautiful North Devon countryside.
Our aim is to make cycling with the club accessible to all in the local community and to make cycling a regular habit for health, fun and fitness.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
NDV promotes and encourages all aspects of cycling and members take part in a range of disciplines including: club rides, touring, time trials, road racing, track racing, sportives, cyclo-cross, mountain biking, and charity events. We are affiliated to Cycling Time Trials (CTT) and are a British Cycling Go Ride Accredited Club.
The club actively supports members who want to race. Our members have raced at a number of national and regional events - we’ve had some great successes in recent years.
All of our members have the opportunity to participate in our organised time trials and hill climbs as well as helping with marshalling and time-keeping duties for all club organised events.
We have a very popular Youth section to the club, ran by a team of British Cycling qualified coaches, to cater for a range of disciplines and abilities for Under 18 riders.
HOW CAN I JOIN?
NDV Club Membership will give you the opportunity to get so much more from your cycling whether that be competitively or recreationally.
Having the opportunity to take part in a range of disciplines and a variety of rides will increase your cycling confidence whilst learning more about where two wheels can take you across the county and beyond.
In keeping with our commitment to offer members the best, we achieved British Cycling’s highest standard for clubs and have been awarded Sport England’s Clubmark status. This is a cross-sport quality accreditation for clubs with youth and junior sections.
We are also affiliated to British Cycling and the CTT (The National Governing Body For Cycling Time Trials).
